Overview

Join the Heritage Home Service team as the Permit Coordinator at our Auburn, NH location 

 

 

As a Permit Coordinator, you will support our residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical home service teams by securing permits, coordinating inspections, maintaining compliance with local regulations, and keeping customers informed throughout the permitting process. Your work will help ensure projects move forward efficiently while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

 

What You'll Do:

 

Permit Acquisition

  • Research and identify permit requirements for residential service and installation projects based on local building codes and municipal regulations.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
  • Track permit applications, follow up with municipalities and permitting offices, and address questions or issues as they arise.
  • Maintain awareness of permitting requirements across the communities we serve.

Compliance Management

  • Partner with trade managers, technicians, installers, and customers to address permitting or compliance-related issues.
  • Stay current on local building codes, permit requirements, and regulatory changes affecting residential home service projects.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements to ensure ongoing compliance and operational efficiency.

Documentation & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain organized records of permit applications, approvals, inspections, and related correspondence.
  • Generate reports to track permit status and provide updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and organize documentation needed for inspections and ensure all required paperwork is available when needed.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for local municipalities, permitting offices, and inspectors.
  • Coordinate inspection schedules and site visits with project teams and customers.
  • Communicate permit requirements, timelines, and updates to internal teams to ensure projects stay on schedule.
  • Collaborate across departments to support a smooth customer experience from permit application through project completion.

Customer Service

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding permit-related questions and updates.
  • Proactively communicate application status, inspection schedules, expected timelines, and any potential delays.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and permitting authorities while ensuring all work remains compliant with local regulations.
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and work collaboratively to find solutions that support an exceptional customer experience.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Previous experience in permit coordination, project administration, residential construction, home services, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of residential building codes, permitting requirements, and municipal approval processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple permits and project timelines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, municipalities, inspectors, technicians, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems and software.
  • Experience supporting residential HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, remodeling, or home improvement projects is a plus.
