HLE General Manager

The General Manager - HLE directs the process and activities of the Area Managers within the Operations Division to ensure maximum performance through superior operational leadership, strong communication and maximum efficiency.

The General Manager – HLE represents all Hertz Global brands to our customers, community leaders, business partners, vendors and government entities.  This position is primarily responsible for the successful delivery and oversight of the Hertz product to internal and external customers.  This position provides overall leadership to exempt and non-exempt employees with responsibility for overall operating performance, customer satisfaction, positive employee culture, safety, service, budgets, vendor relations and the development of future leaders and bench strength.  The General Manager - HLE is responsible to have in-depth knowledge of operations, management, logistics, technology and financial disciplines across all functions and all brands at a location. The leader must have a proven track record for decisive actions backed by analytical thinking, goal-directed leadership and service-oriented performance.  This leader will deliver results through leadership, direction, alignment and motivation.

The salary for this position is $90,100.00

What You’ll Do:

The objective of the General Manager - HLE role is to increase market share, control fleet, meet and exceed its profitability targets, reach customer service goals, and develop staff.  Responsible for customer and employee relations for Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands.

1. Achievement of Operational goals, revenue goals and financial objectives as stated in annual Business Planning
2. Ensure unparalleled customer satisfaction
3. Develop and implement local sales and marketing initiatives 
4. Training and development of all location employees 
5. Ensure efficient utilization and effective control of vehicle inventory
6. Inspire staff members to reach for high goals, encourage open discussion of ideas for improving the Area’s performance and challenge staff members to develop to their potential
7. Create an 'Ownership' Culture with a Focus on Sales and Customer Service 
8. Challenge, Encourage and Develop Employees 
9. Maintain Effective Employee Staffing 
10. Achieve Fleet Utilization and Out of Service Goals 
11. Manage Required Administrative Tasks, Controls and Reports. 
12. Remain current on all administrative duties according to company policy 
13. Give specific performance feedback to each employee on a consistent basis 
14. Complete sales calls with staff to develop employees, increase market penetration and increase revenue
15. Ensure all corporate policies and procedures are administered and followed appropriately by all personnel
16. Role model leadership skills

What We’re Looking For:

• 8 + Years previous management experience in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in car rental, hospitality, or tourism a plus
• Result orientation with demonstrated history of success
• Demonstrated ability to direct and motivate teams as well as identify and grow talent
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Senior leaders and manage large, dispersed and diverse workgroups.
