Help people find their strength.   We’re looking for enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructors who love creating welcoming, high-energy experiences and helping participants reach their wellness goals.   We’re currently looking for instructors with availability for one or more of the following: BodyPump: Mondays at 7:15 a.m., with the opportunity to expand to Friday mornings as the program and attendance grow HIIT: Tuesdays & Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. Cycling: Monday–Friday at 6:00 p.m. Substitute Instructors: Flexible availability to provide class coverage through October, with the potential to continue beyond October Whether you’re looking for a regular class to call your own or enjoy the flexibility of subbing, we’d love to connect with instructors who can bring great energy, build relationships, and create an environment where everyone feels welcome and supported.   Inspire Movement. Because here: Every body is welcome Community matters more than competition You’re part of a mission-driven organization that strengthens individuals and families You’ll join a supportive team dedicated to helping our community live healthier, connected lives.     POSITION SUMMARY  The Instructor, Group Exercise, working as part of the Health and Wellbeing Team, will deliver world-class customer service and use relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA.  The instructor will lead aerobic and conditioning classes under the general guidance of the Director Health and Wellbeing, consistent with the philosophy, policies and purpose of the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver.  The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.        OUR PATH For 150 years, the YMCA of Metro Denver has been more than a place - it is a movement that lifts spirit, mind and body for all.  Our direction is clear: Elevate Lives and Rise Together.  Grounded by our mission and strengthened by the global YMCA movement we will elevate our people, purpose, partnerships and promise.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  Serve as an instructor for fitness classes  When unable to instruct a particular class, instructors will find a substitute for their class, and inform the supervisor in writing of the substitution  The instructor is responsible for the proper care of any equipment used in class and reporting the need for repairs to their supervisor promptly  Certified as a YMCA Exercise Instructor, you are encouraged to participate in any training workshops that pertain to the field   Be prepared with appropriate dress and appropriate music   Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and guests in our facility  Identify leaders for recruitment of volunteers/staff  Attend all training courses, staff meetings and in-services without exception   Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans     WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS  Physical demands described here are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of this job; reasonable accommodation can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions   Frequently required to sit, reach and must be able to move around the work environment    Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds   Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and focus    Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate       YMCA CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION & RISK MANAGEMENT The YMCA is committed to the safety and well-being of all children and vulnerable individuals.
