Human Resources Associate
Position Summary
ANCC is seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Associate to join our team and support our people and continued growth. Working directly under the Chief Business Officer (CBO), who serves as ANCC’s Head of Human Resources, this role will become a key day-to-day resource for employees, managers, and the HR team while supporting a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, benefits and open enrollment, workers’ compensation, onboarding, time-off programs, payroll-related processes, HR policies, and HR systems. The successful candidate will develop a strong working knowledge of ANCC’s policies, benefit plans, programs, and processes while taking on increasing responsibility within the HR function. With a minimum of five years of HR experience, this individual should bring a strong foundation in Human Resources while being eager to learn, take ownership, implement new programs, improve processes, and contribute ideas. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary day-to-day point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR questions, policies, benefits, time off, payroll, and other workplace matters.
- Develop a thorough understanding of ANCC’s HR policies, procedures, benefit plans, time-off programs, employee processes, and HR systems.
- Support employee relations matters, including participating in employee conversations, taking detailed and objective notes, preparing written summaries, maintaining documentation, and escalating matters to the CBO when appropriate.
- Coordinate and manage workers’ compensation claims, including documentation, follow-up, communication, and maintaining accurate records.
- Support benefits administration and annual open enrollment, developing a strong understanding of ANCC’s benefit offerings and serving as a resource to employees.
- Support onboarding and other employee lifecycle processes, ensuring employees and managers have a smooth and organized experience.
- Assist with payroll-related processes and develop a working knowledge of how payroll, benefits, timekeeping, and HR systems interact.
- Administer and support ANCC’s time-off and leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other applicable leave requirements, in coordination with the CBO and appropriate resources.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, wage and hour requirements, employment practices, and other areas relevant to HR administration.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit required HR, employment, benefits, and regulatory reports, including applicable OSHA, BLS, workers’ compensation, and other federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate HR records and data needed for internal reporting, audits, compliance requirements, and organizational decision-making.
- Work under the direction of the CBO to implement new HR policies, programs, and processes, taking a directive and turning it into an actionable plan.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of ADP, independently implementing new programs and processes within the system and identifying opportunities to expand how ANCC utilizes its capabilities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR information and ensure HR documentation is complete and up to date.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, policies, and the overall employee experience, and bring forward recommendations and ideas.
- Support the CBO and HR team with special projects and initiatives as the needs of ANCC evolve.
- Take increasing ownership of HR responsibilities over time, with the opportunity to expand the scope of the role as the individual develops and the organization grows.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional Human Resources experience.
- Strong foundation in general HR practices and the employee lifecycle.
- Experience with employee relations and handling sensitive employee matters.
- Working knowledge of benefits, payroll, time-off programs, onboarding, and HR administration.
- Experience with workers’ compensation claims preferred.
- Experience using ADP or a comparable HR/payroll system; strong ADP experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently, take direction, and turn ideas or directives into action.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Desire to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility.
Role & Growth Opportunity
This position will work closely with the CBO/Head of Human Resources, who will provide overall leadership, direction, and guidance for the HR function. The HR team will continue to report directly to the CBO, while the Human Resources Associate will serve as a key day-to-day resource and take ownership of assigned responsibilities and projects.

Salary Range
- $55,000–$60,000 annually
