About the Role
The Preschool Center Director's responsibility is to effectively operate and manage all aspects of the center, including human resources, customer relations, marketing, educational programs, financial responsibility, and physical facility. The director will also promote a positive image of the program within the community and establish strong working relationships with the state licensing authorities, local and county health departments, and other regulatory agencies.

What You’ll DoÂ
General
- Ensures the center complies with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Implements health and safety standards, and ensures that appropriate supervision of children and safe transportation practices are utilized daily. Â
- Completes and maintains all required paperwork and records in an organized, accurate, and up-to-date manner. Maintains updated emergency contacts and understands all evacuation procedures.Â
- Keeps the Center Owner informed of critical matters, including serious student accidents, employee issues, and significant events. Builds and maintains strong relationships with licensing authorities, vendors, and community contacts.
- May need to transport children to and from school and field trip venue. (14 passenger non-CDL bus)
- Conducts Center Director observations on a quarterly basis.
Customer Service
- Develops and actively maintains positive communication with parents.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to parent concerns, communicating relevant issues to teachers or staff to address concerns and prevent recurrence.Â
- Responsible for keeping disenrolled children to a minimum; determines reasons for loss of enrollment and addresses problem areas contributing to loss of enrollment.Â
Operations
- Responds and follows up on all enrollment inquiries. Gives prospective customers tours of the program and detailed information about the program’s education philosophy and classroom teachers.Â
- Is aware of enrollments/disenrollments with reason at the center weekly.
- Ensures all teachers are following brand standards and completing CSRs/transitions properly daily. Ensure hourly ratio checks are conducted regularly.
- Ensure the center is compliance-ready at all times
Educational Program
- Ensures that the curriculum is appropriately implemented throughout the program and meets state requirements for each age group.
- Ensures Conscious Discipline techniques are utilized by the staff and develops training to address the needs.
- Works with the leadership team on student transitions and appropriate class placements.
Financial Responsibility
- Is familiar with and able to create a program budget to ensure all resources are effectively managed and within budgetary constraints.Â
- Creates staff schedules that are efficient and lead to labor costs that remain within allocated budgets.
- Ensures that computer-related record-keeping requirements are met, including tuition collections.
- Maintains appropriate receipts on all credit card and center expenses
Human Resources
- Understands and adheres to the Ivy Kids’ Personnel Policies.
- Recruits, selects and properly trains qualified staff.Â
- Onboards and trains staff as outlined by the Ivy Kids Learning Journey. Provides coaching and mentoring in the classroom/on the job to ensure success for the new hire.
- Anticipates staffing needs, prepares and posts weekly staffing schedules, and modifies them according to daily student counts in each classroom. Ensures that state and local regulations are met at all times.
Marketing
- Works to develop marketing strategies to increase capacity utilization, utilizes community-based marketing techniques and other appropriate marketing methods.
- Follows the annual marketing plan and participants in community marketing programs and executes center-based events
- Creates and maintains a social media calendar and posts center events, classroom activities, field trips, marketing videos, etc. on social media regularly.
- Maintains appropriate receipts on all credit card and center expenses
Physical Facility
- Maintains building, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe environment that meets program and licensing safety standards
- Maintains a clean safe and healthy environment through scheduled cleanings and frequent safety checks
- Coordinates equipment and facility repairs, and ensures timely completion of repairs to minimize any risk of injury to others
- Ensure bus maintenance and inspections are conducted regularly. Ensure all repairs are completed when needed.
Qualifications:
- Must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience. A Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
- Must be qualified to drive the company vehicles when needed.
- Must be willing and able to work in any classroom as needed to meet program needs.
- Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50+ pounds.
- Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with children and parents.
- Must maintain at least 30 hours of training each year.
