Production Assembler/ Molder

Role Details:
- Full-time, permanent, 50 hours per week, 10 hours per shift
- Assembler: Monday - Friday, 1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Molder: Monday - Friday, 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM

Summary
As a Production Assembler / Molder, you will play a key role in manufacturing high-quality fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) storage tanks and components. Reporting to the Production Manager or Shift Supervisor, you will perform a variety of production tasks that may include molding, assembly, trimming, fitting, laminating, and finishing fiberglass products. You will contribute to a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manufacturing environment while supporting production goals and customer expectations.

Responsibilities
Â
Production & Manufacturing
- Manufacture and assemble fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) products, including shells, domes, tanks, and related components.
- Operate machinery, hand tools, measuring devices, grinders, trimmers, rollers, and other production equipment.
- Prepare molds and tooling surfaces using release agents and related materials.
- Apply fiberglass, resin, catalyst, and other materials using hand lay-up and molding processes.
- Cut, shape, splice, fit, and join materials according to drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.
- Install fittings, manways, gauge plates, and other accessories.
- Trim and finish products to required specifications.
- Inspect products for defects and perform minor repairs or adjustments as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production documentation.
- Complete required production records, process sheets, and timekeeping documentation accurately.
- Support additional production and assembly activities as business needs require.

Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and product quality.
- Monitor materials and processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and communicate recommendations to leadership.

Health & Safety
- Follow all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental requirements.
- Wear required PPE and use equipment safely.
- Report incidents, hazards, and near misses immediately.
- Participate in safety meetings and investigations as needed.
Â
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience in fiberglass, composites, plastics, construction, assembly, production, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments is an asset.
- Strong production and quality-focused manufacturing skills.

Skills & Abilities
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Willingness to learn new manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Lean manufacturing experience is an asset.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to work safely in a physically demanding production environment.
- Visual acuity and depth perception required for measuring, assembly, and inspection tasks.

Working Conditions
- Fiberglass reinforced plastic manufacturing facility.
- Exposure to dust, fiberglass fibers, resin and chemical odors, noise, and moving equipment.
- Non-climate-controlled environment with seasonal temperature variations.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production demands.
