Job Description

As the Quality Inspector you will work safely and maintain all quality standards; thereby ensuring customers receive quality products.  Duties include collecting product samples, visual and dimensional inspection, and inspection documentation.   Communicates with Operations when there are quality issues discovered. 

This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is based out of our Anoka Location.

Available Shifts:

V: Mon, Tues, Wed, and every other Thurs 7am-7pm

U: Mon, Tues, Wed, and every other Thurs 7pm-7am

P: Fri, Sat, Sun, and every other Thurs 7am-7pm

Q: Fri, Sat, Sun, and every other Thurs 7pm-7am

What you’ll do:

  • Safety – Follow all rules and procedures; keep area neat and orderly; report all existing or potential safety hazards/issues to leadership immediately.  Utilize Safety Observation system.

  • Environmental/hazardous waste – Understand and follow all procedures.

  • Quality – Understand all product quality requirements and procedures, insure they are met.  Notify leadership of excessive defective levels. Understand how defects can impact final customers including Law Enforcement and Military.

  • Teamwork – Be an effective team member.

  • Continuous Improvement – Contribute your ideas through the Kaizen card process.

  • Work the hours scheduled for the assigned shift plus overtime as needed.

  • Disassemble and handle ammunition components and products

  • Fill out paperwork.

  • Inspect/audit loaded rounds.

  • Follow 5S and clean up protocols.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience you bring:

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • 18 years of age or older.

  • Must have demonstrated strong organizational skills and strong work ethic.

  • No disciplinary action at a report of Conference level or about in the past 12 months.

  • Must be able to learn to use computers and/or precision measuring devices within 30 days.

  • Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • Must be able to work 12 hours on assigned shift.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to work independently without continual supervision

You might have:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment (high volume preferred.)

  • SPC – Statistical process control experience

  • Gauging experience

Physical Requirements:  Standing and moving for about 90% of the time.  Reaching, handling, fingering and manual dexterity to assemble and inspect.  Occasional lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs.  Near vision for detecting quality defects.  Must have normal color vision and normal depth perception capability.  Climbing, stooping, bending and crouching on a daily basis.

Mental RequirementsHigh level of mental attentiveness for safety, quality and to manipulate and visually inspect small parts.  Reading and basic math comprehension to understand and interpret training guides, standard operating procedures, and quality information (charts, graphs, etc.).  Interpersonal communication skills to facilitate problem-solving and to function effectively as part of a work team.

(Reasoning Ability)  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  

Equipment Used:  Operation of hand tools, Gages, telephone, calculator, personal computer, copier/printer.

Working EnvironmentManufacturing floor environment is subject to exposure to noise, vibration, summer heat, moving objects and mechanical equipment hazards.  Work is often done as an individual, but may also work with the team.

Work Environment:

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range:

$24.25 - $34.02

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
