HF Sinclair is seeking a Distributed Control System (DCS) Monitoring Analyst in the following locations Dallas,TX , Artesia, NM, El Dorado, KS ,Tulsa,OK, Casper,WY, Sinclair, WY, Salt Lake City, UT, Woods Cross, or Anacortes, WA .The Distributed Control System (DCS) Monitoring Analyst supports fleet-wide monitoring of control systems across HF Sinclair sites. The role reports to the Control Systems Automation Lead and coordinates closely with OT Cyber Analyst, regional support teams, site OT teams, and other technical stakeholders to monitor and improve DCS performance, health, availability, , cybersecurity, and system reliability metrics. The expected outcome is to identify issues, coordinate proactive response, drive standardization, and improve system reliability across the enterprise.This position is critical to maintaining the availability, performance, and security of the organization's DCS infrastructure while supporting operational excellence and digital transformation initiatives.
Job Duties
- Act as a primary point of contact for enterprise DCS monitoring activities.
- Define, plan, and deploy standard tools to support monitoring activities.
- Perform centralized monitoring of DCS telemetry across fleet environments.
- Develop coordinated work processes to connect local, regional, and remote monitoring and response capabilities.
- Identify, document, track, and escalate gaps where OT assets are not properly surfaced in approved fleet tools or related monitoring platforms.
- Maintain and improve fleet OT asset inventories to ensure OT assets are accurately identified, current, and visible through approved fleet tools and reporting processes.
- Coordinate with site OT, operations, maintenance, and vendors to improve the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of OT asset records and tool coverage across all fleet locations.
- Develop and maintain enterprise-wide KPIs related to DCS health and performance.
- Analyze recurring system issues and identify opportunities for reliability improvements.
- Create dashboards and/or utilize approved system analysis and monitoring application reports for leadership, engineering teams, and plant stakeholders.
- Identify leading indicators of system degradation and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor control system health, system performance, communications status, server infrastructure, and application availability.
- Analyze alarms, events, diagnostics, and performance trends to proactively identify potential issues. Identify leading indicators of system degradation and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to investigate and respond to OT security incidents
- Perform routing health checks of DCS hardware, software, communications networks and historian systems.
- Escalate and coordinate responses to critical control system events impacting production or safety.
- Maintain visibility of fleet-wide OT infrastructure through monitoring and analytics platforms
- Support deployment of advanced analytics and predictive monitoring technologies
- Recommend enhancements to monitoring tools, architecture, and workflows.
- Identify opportunities to improve system visibility, monitoring effectiveness, and operational reliability
- Participate in technology assessments and system lifecycle planning.
- Ensure consistency of monitoring, alerting, and reporting practices across facilities
- Participate in technical and non-technical projects requiring analysis, monitoring, documentation, and risk tracking.
- Stay current with system threats, recommended configurations, vulnerabilities, advisories, applicable to control systems automation environments.
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting industrial automation and control systems.
- Experience with OT cybersecurity technologies and security monitoring
- Experience with DCS platforms, Honeywell, Siemens, Foxboro, etc. Experion PKS and associated applications a plus.
- Experience working within multi-site manufacturing or industrial operation.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring, system diagnostics, and incident managemen
Education Level
Bachelors in a related technical field OR equivalent industrial experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Systems monitoring and diagnostics.
- Strong foundation in Mean Time to Detect and Mean Time to Respond principles.
- Proven ability to work independently as an individual contributor while effectively collaborating with cross-functional technical teams, site production personnel, third-party engineering firms and vendors.
- Ability and willingness to support multiple sites across the fleet, including up to 40% travel by air and ground transportation
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
Work Conditions
Office based with up to 40% travel by land or air is required. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions. Occasional long hours, as well as nights and weekends, may be required to support maintenance windows, outages, cybersecurity events, audits, investigations, and site project activities.

Physical Requirements
Job conditions require sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, perceiving color differences, and the ability to operate and drive assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates. A valid State driver's license and proof of insurance are required. Job conditions may require standing, walking, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 25 lbs.
