Position: Purchasing Coordinator [1026]

Program: Amarillo, Texas – Purchasing and Materials Management

Salary range: $57,033.60 Annually

Shift available: Full-time

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
  • To provide purchasing services for TPC departments, staff and vendors
  • Perform routine and complex work in the purchasing of commodities, materials and services
  • Prepare reports,complete formal and informal bids,process requisitions through local, state and federal contracts and other related governmental entities
  • Perform all communications relating to processed purchase orders expediting, change notices, and vendor relation reports as necessary
  • Work with all staff and vendors to determine the best value to the Center
  • Willingness to assist walk-in customers and pull stock as necessary to fill orders
  • Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised

Required qualifications to be successful in the job:

  • Experience in a position that provides a working knowledge of general purchasing and contracting
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) test

  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy  
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business, management, accounting or related field
  • Certification from a major purchasing association
