Northwest Physicians Group formed in 2013 with a focus towards population health management. The group has grown to a network of over 40 providers serving patients at numerous primary, specialty and urgent care locations in Amarillo, Texas. Northwest Physicians Group is affiliated with Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a 495-bed system acute care hospital that serves approximately 650,000 residents of the Texas Panhandle and surrounding region. Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. Position Title: Nurse Practitioner

Position Summary:

• Oversees the quality of care delivered to his/her patients
• Collaborates with other health care professionals in the delivery of health care services.
• Makes independent decisions about nursing needs and interdependent decisions with physicians regarding health regimens
• Assumes dependent responsibilities in carrying out delegated medical acts
• Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all groups

Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training & Travel Requirements (if applicable):

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas and maintain throughout employment
• Current Adult Nurse Practitioner licensed to practice in the State of Texas and maintain throughout employment
• Minimum of 12 months of current nursing practice in specific specialty area in which the nurse will practice advanced nursing
• Knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rule and Regulations
• BLS from the American Heart Association upon hire and maintain throughout employment
