Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for a Sales Trainer for our Columbus, OH location.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Trainer to deliver, and evaluate training programs that strengthen the performance and effectiveness of our sales organization. This role is responsible for facilitating engaging learning experiences for sales representatives, sales managers, and internal team members while supporting the ongoing growth and success of our sales force.

 

The ideal candidate is passionate about coaching, sales development, and adult learning, with the ability to effectively communicate sales strategies, product knowledge, and best practices in both classroom and field environments.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and fully subscribes to a current, comprehensive understanding of total company policies, procedures, selling aids, training programs, management practices, product lines, and sales promotions
  • Possesses the ability to effectively understand, use, and sell the company’s product lines, selling programs, planning programs, and sales techniques and instruct others on these skills
  • Teaches Kimball Midwest’s sales representatives, sales managers, and internal staff required, job related programs
  • Delivers work product within prescribed deadlines and quality standards
  • Continuously learns the company’s total product lines, selling programs, sales tools, policies, and procedures
  • Completes Sales Trainer course
  • Effectively delivers content for one complete core class.
  • Continues development progress to deliver workshop segments in two core classes
  • Builds and maintains a strong working relationship with the entire sales team, management, and internal staff
  • Participates in district, regional, and annual sales meetings to perform predetermined training
  • Performs in-field training on Focused Approach to Sales, add-on selling, Continuous discovery, product-specific modules, safety seminars, and other development programs
  • Maintains an accurate and timely Outlook calendar for all field and internal activities
  • Spends at least 2 days per month in the field working on conversions, ride-alongs with Sales Representatives, safety seminars, customer surveys, or attending meetings
  • During your training, completes 5 days in the field, utilizing the Focused Approach to Sales, Handling Objections and Closing the Sale.
  • Achieve post-training goals and reviews trainee results. Trainings may be online or in-person
  • Makes recommendations for continuous improvements to workshop materials such as PowerPoints, outlines, and handouts and assists in the updating of those materials
  • Assists in outline creation and performs in training videos
  • Develops webinars, live and recorded, focused on sales skills, specific product categories, individual products, and industry segments. Reviews post-training reviews from trainees
  • Assists in the auditing of training materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and timelines of material
  • Collaborates with other departments to create training material centered around their programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Advertising, Communication or Education
  • 1-2 years’ experience in sales, sales training, or a related field
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to effectively generate, in written form, readily understood instructional materials such as outlines, handouts, and classroom exercises
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • The appearance in videos, pictures, and other media created for publishing along with a signed Model Consent and Release Form
  • The ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • The successful completion of a ninety (90) day orientation period

Additional Information

 

The hours are Monday- Friday, 1st shift hours but some days may need to be available until 7:00pm depending on traing schedule.
