Position Summary:

The Automation Mechanic is responsible for maintenance of all electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems on equipment used in the production process.

Accountabilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and periodic performance checks.
  • Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation procedures. 
  • Support Dee Zee's environmental policies with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste and acting on environment performance results and findings.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, adjust or calibrate industrial machines. 
  • Apply creative skills along with related knowledge in electronics, mechanics and pneumatics. 
  • Coordinate efforts with others involved in installing or maintaining equipment or components.
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires. 
  • Maintain service records of the control devices and automated equipment, repairing when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience in automation, mechanics or electronics required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and mechanical assembly preferred.
  • Must demonstrate computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
  • Robotics experience is a plus.
  • Ability to stop production or prevent shipment of products that do not meet, or may not meet, quality and customer requirements.
  • Associate Degree in Engineering field such as Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Robotics technology preferred.
