Position Summary

Redtree Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead day-to-day design activities and mentor our Junior Design team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical leadership skills, a solid grasp of applicable codes and standards, and the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering and design departments.

This role will work closely with mechanical engineering and design teams to ensure deliverables meet quality and compliance requirements, while also maintaining and improving CAD and training standards across the organization.

You Will...

Provide day-to-day management and mentoring of the Junior Design team.

Ensure all deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards.

Collaborate with other design departments to support project execution.

Collaborate closely with the mechanical engineering department.

Maintain training and CAD standards databases, and recommend process improvements.

Support design reviews and quality control processes throughout project execution.

Coordinate with engineering, design, and project management teams to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.

If You have...

Strong experience (10+ years) in mechanical design engineering, with a proven track record of mentoring junior staff.

Solid working knowledge of applicable codes and standards relevant to mechanical design deliverables.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and design disciplines.

Experience maintaining CAD standards, training materials, and process documentation.

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Are detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality design work.

Can work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.

Must be able to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience mentoring or managing junior design engineers.

Experience with process improvement initiatives within a design or engineering team.

Familiarity with industrial, power generation, or heavy industrial mechanical design projects.

Experience working within fully remote or distributed project teams.
