About this Role

Associate Category Manager – Steel Structures & Transmission Materials

This role includes up to 20% domestic and international travel.

EnergyLink, a Quanta company, is seeking an Associate Category Manager with 1-3 years of procurement, sourcing, or category management experience supporting lattice steel structures, monopoles, transmission structures, fabricated steel, or other steel-related infrastructure components for large-scale EPC, utility, energy, or infrastructure projects.

This role owns sourcing activities across key steel-based commodities, including lattice steel towers, monopoles, structural steel, fabricated steel components, transmission structures, hardware, and related materials. The Associate Category Manager will work closely with engineering, construction, and project teams to identify and qualify suppliers, negotiate commercial agreements, manage long-lead material procurement, and drive cost, quality, and delivery performance across complex infrastructure projects.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Category Manager at QISG/EnergyLink, you will:

• Own and execute category strategies aligned with project demand, technical requirements, and company objectives.
• Lead supplier negotiations and manage strategic supplier relationships across steel-related commodities and fabricated materials.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project teams to ensure materials are delivered on time and within budget.
• Support procurement planning, demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply continuity initiatives.
• Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers while monitoring supplier performance, risk, and capacity.
• Conduct market analysis, spend assessments, and competitive benchmarking to drive cost savings and value creation.
• Manage RFQs, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and purchase order execution.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support project schedules, change management, and material issue resolution.
• Travel to project sites, manufacturing facilities, and supplier locations to support supplier oversight and field operations.
• Utilize enterprise systems such as JD Edwards, Salesforce, and Coupa for sourcing execution, supplier onboarding, and procurement planning.

What You'll Bring

• 1-3 years of sourcing, procurement, category management, supply chain, or purchasing experience supporting lattice steel towers, monopoles, structural steel, fabricated steel components, transmission structures, utility infrastructure, or other steel-related products.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication processes, structural steel supply chains, utility infrastructure materials, or engineered construction products.
• Experience sourcing and managing suppliers for fabricated steel, custom-engineered products, construction materials, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven success in negotiating pricing, contracts, lead times, and supplier performance metrics.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, production schedules, capacity planning, and long-lead material management.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and procurement systems, including JD Edwards, Salesforce, Coupa, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate supplier proposals, spend data, and sourcing opportunities.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively with engineering, project management, operations, and construction teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, APICS, or equivalent are a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% to project sites, fabrication facilities, and supplier locations as needed.
