Stantec is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Transportation team in Tampa, Florida. We seek a team player who desires a highly collaborative work environment, has excellent client and communication skills, and strong design capabilities. We seek a candidate with expertise with Transportation structures, including bridges, transportation related miscellaneous structures, and other structural elements such as seawalls and pedestrian structures.

This role offers the opportunity to work on evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering systems or products for a project. A Senior Structural Engineer will perform a variety of tasks which may include development of construction plans, specifications, cost estimate, engineering reports and studies for infrastructure projects, including bridges, transportation related structures, and other structural elements.

Your Key Responsibilities

Select and apply appropriate design criteria to perform minor bridge design and load rating assignments.
Prepares engineering project documents, such as design calculations, pertaining to specific projects.
Prepare high quality contract documents (plans, specifications, and estimates) for the construction of structures such as bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, signal/sign structures or pedestrian structures.
Perform field inspections and condition assessments.
Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
Utilizes relevant software packages to perform structural design and analysis (STAAD, Leap Bridge, MathCAD, and spreadsheets).
Utilizes relevant software programs to prepare working and final drawings in accordance with client standards (MicroStation, AutoCAD).

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
